The Biscuit Factory in Reading. Throughout October and November 2023.
"Reading Ballad" Installed at the atrium space at Reading station September 2023 - 2026. The piece is 10m x 3.3 and celebrates the rich, vibrancy and diversity of Reading. It features 138 images and paintings that depict the history, culture, parks, workplaces, buildings and people of Reading. The artwork was researched by speaking to people from Reading, from days of research and taking photographs of the area. The final collage and painting is 2.4m x 1.2m which was photographed by Stuart Shafran. His blog explains the process to photograph the physical piece to enable it to be created as a huge vinyl. https://stuartshafran.wordpress.com/2023/09/28/the-ballard-of-reading-art-and-megapixels/
Solo show at Guildford Cathedral - 23rd May - 30th June 2023
Featuring an installation outside the entrance to the cathedral, the two huge paintings here, that will flank the doors and flowers along the nave.
Installed at Reading station throughout 2023. "Reading Gaze" and "Caversham Meadows" 2.6m x 1.2m
I have been selected as one of seven artists for Swindon’s first ever street art festival in partnership with inSwindon BID @inswindon and Artsite and the Post Modern @artsite.ltd on the October 15th and 16th 2022. More details to follow but I will painting a 4m x 2m mural on a board that reflects Swindon, over the two days.
I am so excited to have been selected for the Wells Contemporary 2022 with "If not now, when?".
This installation was placed outside and uses flowers connected to Wells Cathedral depicted in the carvings, stained glass windows and embroidery. Roses, daises and thistles are featured in 24 of the Embroideries in the quire. There are also herbs such as the nettle, lavender and balm to highlight the herb garden at Bishops Palace established by William Turner in 1551 which highlights the powerful medicinal properties of flowers. The installation encouraged consideration for their importance ... ecologically and for the soul. The title of the installation suggest we need to stop and reflect and poses the questions of global warming and the need to care for our planet. Flowers and especially roses are an important symbol for the church. The rose is the symbol for Mary' (Jesus' mother) and the reason the rosary is so named. There are also leaves that mimic the fauna at the top of the columns in the South Transept, further linking them to the building. To summarise - they connect to the Cathedral, encourage debate around care for the planet and for reflection and contemplation and "taking time to smell the roses".
Wells Cathedral, Wells, UK from Saturday 30th July to Sunday 28th August 2022

The Sunbury Gallery - 19th July until 4th September 2022
"If not now, when?"
This is a solo show of my work that is site specific. It features huge flowers that will sit in the formal gardens and challenge the visitors to "listen" to the call of nature to treasure and care for them. Inside the gallery, (which is the permanent home of the the Sunbury Millennium Embroidery, designed by John Stamp a commemorative record celebrating this ancient riverside village and its community in the year 2000) will be an immersive display of flowers and paintings. The gallery works are for sale.
The gallery and the gardens are truly delightful and well worth a visit. Plus, the cafe sells the most divine cake!
